Ocala National Forest (Florida)

THE AMERICAN BACKPACKER

2010 to Present

The Ocala National Forest is located in the central Florida region.  It encompasses over 380,000 acres of land with a sand pine scrub forest.   The below pictures were taken on some of my expeditions into this remote and rugged wilderness area.  When I am in Ocala I use the Florida trail to explore the subtropical forest called pine scrub.  This endangered ecosystem is found throughout Florida.
